A two-story white farm house just north of Tonganoxie on 203rd Street in Leavenworth County is the site where Abraham Lincoln reportedly slept during his visit to Kansas.History
A plaque at the home, placed by the Leavenworth County Historical Society reads "Lincoln Slept Here. On November 27th, 1859, Abraham Lincoln arrived in Leavenworth by carriage. He spent four days and delivered two speeches in making his bid for the presidency. On December 1, Lincoln spent the night in the Tonganoxie area in this house now known as Lincoln Rest. It was built in 1854 of native timber."(This information was mailed to the Kansas Historical Society, along with modern photographs of the home exterior and the historic marker plaque.)
