Tony Clark

Tony ClarkAnthony “Tony” Clark was born June 15, 1972, in Newton, Kansas. Clark spent his high school years in California attending Valhalla High School and then transferring to Christian High School in El Cajon where he was named All-American and Academic All-American in both baseball and basketball. Clark went on to play basketball at the University of Arizona and then San Diego State University. Clark was drafted by the Detroit Tigers and made his Major League debut on September 3, 1995. Clark played for the Tigers from 1995 to 2001. He then went on to play for the Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, and New York Yankees all for a year a piece in 2002, 2003, and 2004. Clark transferred to the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2005 and played there until 2007. He played for the San Diego Padres in 2008 and then returned to the Diamondbacks until he retired in 2009.

Clark and his wife have three children. In 2010 he began working for the National Baseball Players Association as the director of player relations.
