Civil Defense-Boeing Company Shelter

Built underneath the Wichita Division plant, the shelter had enough dedicated rooms to house 600 people in the event of a nuclear attack. Inside the shelter, the massive tunnels and corridors could shelter an additional 12,000 people. There was enough food and medical supplies stocked in the shelter to sustain nearly 12,000 people before running out. Like many other fallout shelters during the Cold War, the shelter was dual use, serving as either a general storage or multipurpose.
