Clean-shaven Abraham Lincoln as he appeared about the time of his visit to Kansas 100 years ago. Mr. Lincoln arrived in Elwood on November 30, 1859, speaking there that evening, at Troy and Doniphan on December 1, at Atchison December 2, and at Leavenworth December 3 and 5. (See pp. 285, 308.)
