WILLIAM JOHN MEREDITH, author and lecturer, was born in the Plum Grove community, of which he writes, on August 1, 1862. For several decades he was identified with private and public schools and colleges in Western states. He is retired and lives at 536 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto, Cal.

JAMES C. MALIN, associate editor of The Kansas Historical Quarterly, is professor of history at the University of Kansas, Lawrence.

EDGAR LANGSDORF, of Topeka, is associated with the Kansas division of the Historical Records Survey, compiling a list of early Kansas imprints.

BERLIN B. CHAPMAN is professor of economics at Fairmont State Teachers College, Fairmont, W. Va.
