Kansas Territorial Sesquicentennial Commission
The Kansas Territorial Sesquicentennial Commission coordinated a number of efforts during its observance 2004-2011.
One of the legacy projects was a tree planting effort in each of the 105 counties in Kansas during 2004. This statewide project was underwritten by donations from Mr. and Mrs. William L. Oliver, Jr., and the Kansas Bankers Association. Distribution and implementation was accomplished in partnership with the Kansas Forest Service at Kansas State University, the Kansas Nursery & Landscape Association, and the Kansas State Historical Society.
