Scope and content: A letter of resignation from John Williams as Justice of the Peace for Davis County, dated October 12, 1869. A letter of resignation from Samuel M. Coleman of Junction City as Justice of the Peace, dated November 26, 1869. A letter of resignation from J. T. Budgens as Justice of the Peace for Crawford County. In the letter Budgens, recommends James F. St. Clair as a suitable person to fill the vacancy. A petition from citizens of Crawford County request Franklin Playter for the appointment as Justice of Peace of Crawford County. Two additional documents ask Kansas Governor to appoint certain individuals as Justice of the Peace for Crawford County.
