Scope and content: A letter, June 12, 1869, from W. S. McFeaters informs Kansas Governor Harvey that many Commissioners and citizens of Montgomery County request both James T. Allen and John C. Price be appointed as Justice of Peace of their county. A petition, July 29, 1872, to have Morris B. Bristol appointed as Justice of Peace of Montgomery County. Another petition, January 26, 1872, requests that James Call be given the position as Justice of Peace of Montgomery County. Additional documents in this file concern the appointment of Justice of Peace of either Montgomery or Morris County.
