Scope and content: A petition, August 13, 1872, from citizens of Neosho County recommend George D. Clapsdale as Justice of Peace for their county. A letter from Thomas H. Butler informs the Governor the person they elected last spring as Justice of Peace failed to qualify and requests Samuel Shafer to be appointed. A petition from citizens of Osage County asks that Samuel M. Berry be given the appointment as Justice of Peace of their county. The following documents are letters and petitions from individuals recommending certain people be appointed as Justice of Peace of their county.
