Scope and content: A petition on February 23, 1871, from electors of Rice County request Earl Joslin, be appointed as Justice of the Peace of Brooksdale, Rice County, Kansas. A petition from residents of the township Madison in Riley County request Kansas Governor Harvey appoints C. C. Adams as the Justice of the Peace. A letter on June 23, 1869, informs the Governor of a vacancy for Justice of the Peace in Jackson township, Riley County, and requests E. P. Webber to fill the position.
