Scope and content: A letter of resignation from Silas S. Penwell as Justice of the Peace for Washington township in Washington County. In the resignation letter, Penwell recommends A. S. Markam as a fit person to be his successor. A petition from citizens of Clifton township in Washington County request Minard Morgan as Justice of the Peace. A letter informs Kansas Governor Harvey that Center township in Wilson County only has one Justice of Peace and requests S. W. Burke be appointed as a fit person for the office.
