Scope and content: The following documents in this file pertain to criminal matters within various counties in Kansas. A letter from John N. Ritter, Attorney of Cherokee County, writes to inform Governor Harvey there are two murders at large and requests a reward offered for the capture of the criminals. A petition from citizens of Nemaha County asks the Governor to offer a reward for the arrest of the murderer of Henry Stryker. A separate letter from A. C. Potter asks the Governor to offer a reward for the capture of the murderer of Wesley Beckley of Miami County, Kansas.
