Scope and content: A letter on March 12, 1877, from Susan M. Leazenby, states she was unfairly discharged from her position at the Asylum and asks Kansas Governor Anthony if he can use his influence to obtain her another position. A petition on January 15, 1877, from signers, state that T. A. Stanley is a good man and has a good reputation. A letter on July 9, 1877, from A. H. Knapp, informs Governor Anthony, he is having published an account of the condition of the Kansas State Insane Asylum and discussing the circumstances and causes that led to his resignation. A letter from W. H. Pilkerton, asks if the Asylum in Topeka is complete and requests the appointment as Marshall.
