John Brown Museum State Historic Site Freedom Festival
This two-day event features music, reenactments and historic figure performances. Award-winning recording artists Magpie will be the featured performers. The duo offers traditional and vintage Americana, contemporary and original compositions. Other musical performances include Shortleaf and Band of Oz/Osawatomie Community Band. Step back in history with reenactments of the Battle of Osawatomie and the Battle of New Georgia. Historic figure performances include Steve Burns as Abraham Lincoln and Kerry Altenbernd as John Brown. Mary Buster, a descendent of Samuel and Florella Adair will be telling stories of the Adair and Brown families. Come experience part of Kansas history with this year's Freedom Festival at John Brown Memorial Park in Osawatomie!
