Karrin Allyson

Karrin AllysonKarrin Allyson was born July 27, 1963 in Great Bend, Kansas. At a young age Allyson learned to play the piano and began singing. Allyson grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, and attended college at the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she majored in classical music with a minor in French. After college Allyson began her jazz career. Her first album in 1992, I Didn’t Know About You, was a huge success. Since then Allyson has produced 12 more albums in both English and several other languages, including both Portuguese and French. While most of Allyson’s albums are jazz, Allyson has sung and performed a number of other music genres. Allyson has been nominated for four Grammy Awards and received high praise from a number of critics. Although her home in is New York City, Allyson tours both nationally and internationally, having concerts in Brazil, Australia, and across Europe.
