Nancy Boyda

Nancy Boyda was born on August 2, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated with degrees in chemistry and education from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, and began her career in 1978 as an analytical chemist and field inspector. Boyda first challenged incumbent Congressman Jim Ryun for the Second District seat in 2004 but lost by a substantial margin. In her second run at the seat in 2006, Boyda captured just enough popular votes for the upset victory. She commenced her term of office on January 4, 2007. State Treasurer Lynn Jenkins, a Republican, challenged Boyda in the 2008 election and won.
