K0103518 Librarian I (Collections Archivist): State of Kansas | Position Description

The Collections Archivist will help plan and implement collections development policies and procedures for non-government records of all formats in the State Archives Division, including the acquisition, management, description and access for analog, born-digital and web-only newspapers and other publications, manuscripts, photographs, maps and plans, and audio and video and related formats as needed. The Collections Archivist will play a leading role in maintaining standards and procedures for the processing and description of analog and digital collections in all formats, including audio/visual materials, and the standards-based procedures for acquiring and managing born digital materials. The Collections Archivist will also contribute knowledge to the planning and implementation of a Trusted Digital Repository for born-digital collections.

This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all building HVAC systems, plumbing systems and electrical systems for the Kansas Historical Society main campus, including the Potawatomi Mission and warehouse, plus Cedar Crest. The position also provides support services for other historic sites throughout the state. Full time rotation, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., five days a week, rotating Monday - Saturday. This position provides a high level of cleaning in all areas of service and facility spaces. Some spaces would include public use areas such as restrooms, lobbies, break rooms, galleries, classrooms and hallways. This work requires moderate to heavy physical activity daily, must be agile and able to lift 80 pounds. This position will average 20 hours per week. Work time is generally 4 to 8 p.m. weekdays Monday through Friday.

The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation that supports the programs of the Historical Society. Executive Director and CEO | Position Description

This is a highly responsible supervisory, administrative, and participatory position. The individual serves as the chief executive of the Kansas Historical Foundation, a private, not-for-profit 501(c) (3) corporation, whose mission is the support of programs of the Kansas State Historical Society, a state agency, through private gifts. The Foundation raises and manages private funds, maintains a membership organization, operates museum stores, sponsors annual and spring meetings, and works directly with the Executive Committee of the Kansas Historical Foundation Board of Directors. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Accountant | Position Description

The employee serves as the accounting specialist for the Kansas Historical Foundation, a private 501(c)(3) and is responsible for maintaining the accounting system, which includes payroll, personnel, deposits, invoicing, and payments. The position is a part-time position, averaging 20 hours per week, and is exempt under FLSA. The position starts at $19 an hour. Benefits include annual leave, sick leave, and the Foundation matches up to 3 percent to a 403(b) tax advantage retirement plan if the employee contributes 6 percent. The employee must possess excellent organizational, communication, computer, accounting, and public relations skills, and maintain confidentiality in carrying out these duties.
