Matthew Chappell

Matthew ChappellMatthew Chappell was appointed acting executive director of the Kansas Historical Society in January 2023.

Chappell has served as Administration Division director of the Historical Society since October 2012. He has worked for the State of Kansas since 1995 with various state agencies in a variety of roles.

Born in Topeka, Kansas, Chappell is a graduate of Stillwater High School in Oklahoma, and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Kansas State University in 1992.
