  • Make a list of when and where vital records are available, more at kshs.org/11313
  • Consider these types of public records:
    • Birth records
    • Deeds
    • Marriage licenses
    • Tax rolls
    • Death records
    • Wills
    • Naturalization records
    • Military
  • Find some vital records at Familysearch.org
  • Cemetery records may be available online, through a governmental agency, or only at a local sexton's office
  • Visit Latter-Day-Saints resource centers in person
  • Visit the Kansas Historical Society's State Archives in Topeka.
