Contents: Fulkerson reports "treacherous, cold-blooded...unparalleled" murder of E. Premeau by the Yancton band of Sioux last winter, and their own "melancholy" defeat by the Gros Ventres and Mandan tribes. Fulkerson states his belief that the whole band of Yancton Sioux deserve punishment, unless the murderer is delivered up.
